Toyekola Elongo was born out of a personal and professional journey spanning Africa, Asia, and the United States, as well as a deep commitment to education as a catalyst for social transformation.
Having trained in educational policy, leadership, and school management at East China Normal University in Shanghai, I designed educational strategies to combat illiteracy in the Kingabwa commune of Kinshasa. This experience allowed me to realize that disparities in academic achievement take root as early as primary school.

Upon coming to the United States to deepen my expertise in curriculum, instruction, and pedagogy, I discovered structured teaching practices, effective professional development models, and research-based tools. This knowledge needed to be shared to strengthen pedagogical practices, support teachers in their professional growth, and sustainably improve student learning outcomes in under-resourced schools.
This work was initiated with rural and peri-urban schools in Kinshasa prior to relocating to the United States; today, it has entered a structuring phase in preparation for its full-scale rollout.

Toyekola Elongo reflects this dynamic:
I learn here.
I share that knowledge there.
Teachers learn from one another.
Students learn more effectively.
Administrators enhance their practices.
The community gets involved.
We learn together.
In Lingala, the name Toyekola Elongo means:
“Let’s Learn Together.”
